Over the past month I’ve been trying to add one more site to my list of online businesses, and at some point - because I didn’t have the time - I decided to look for a freelancer to do some part of the project.

To cut a really long story short, it wasn’t too easy coming up with the right person, primarily because it wasn’t too easy getting my hands on a good list of possible free lance web sites. So why am I putting up this post ?

I’m putting up this post because I suspect that ( as much as trying to do it all yourself will save you some money ) a lot of you don’t mind investing a bit of money into your online businesses, especially when - like me - you have really good ideas but really don’t have the time to spend putting those ideas together.

Actually working with free lancers on the web is really not expensive. You actually maybe saving a lot of money in the long run. Some of the advantages of using free lancers for your online businesses are

• Because there are so many of them , competition for projects is high, you literally can post a very ridiculous fee and still get loads of bids

• It helps you articulate exactly what you want to achieve for the particular project

• Because of (2) above you actually get a better deal. Areas where you would have let yourself off ( I’ve already done enough, this is OK - and all the other excuses we give ourselves when we’ve done shoddy jobs), you definitely won’t let anyone else off. Selfish, but true

• You immediately begin to see your online businesses as businesses. Because you are actually spending money/investing money in them, you immediately become wiser, prudent and much more business savvy

• You have the opportunity to find people who are really good at doing stuff, and build a long lasting relationship with them. Something that will be very useful as your online businesses grow and you slowly realize that you can’t do it all by yourself

So thats a list of 20 places to get in touch with freelancers. There are a lot of other tips on getting the best out of free lancers but most sites will have tutorials and how to’s for this. Before hiring a freelancer please visit forums and get feedback from people who have used them before, that way you’ll be able to avoid common mistakes.
